  1. I did some work on silkscreen

I did some work on silkscreen and I picked the parts from LCSC. For the silkscreen: - I designed it in figma, and I put it into kicad. For the back silkscreen, I really just wanted something fun and informative, therefore i just outlined the different component zones on the pcb and labelled them with arrows. This is what the PCB currently looks like: ![image.png](/user-attachments/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6MjE5MDUsInB1ciI6ImJsb2JfaWQifX0=--a24a31071095fb24d580d92d903bbee47b387918/image.png) The front is still plain since i haven't thought up of what to put on there, but ill probably just add the name and some cool design later. I also added a place for a lanyard which took me longer than it should've... I'm very surprised that the current LCSC BOM comes out to $25.68 which isn't very much. I'm predicting the PCB and stencil will cost around $10 and the E-ink display I have my eye on, costs around $10 on Aliexpress. Tomorrow (my birthday :yay:) I will probably like quickly add BMS so I could use a Li-ion battery

  2. So, I did a lot today. Firstly

So, I did a lot today. Firstly, I routed pretty much the whole board since I had already finished the schematic yesterday. This is what the current board looks like: ![image.png](/user-attachments/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6MjE0MDAsInB1ciI6ImJsb2JfaWQifX0=--3734f2b3b87d5643aacb7cdcbab163d66ea89814/image.png) ![image.png](/user-attachments/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6MjE0MDEsInB1ciI6ImJsb2JfaWQifX0=--4d61d9d104a2cce4d4ee6c83004a045166b8920f/image.png) ![image.png](/user-attachments/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6MjE0MDIsInB1ciI6ImJsb2JfaWQifX0=--12492e63638669aa3d2ea240e85b54a06a523ed7/image.png) as you may notice, the board is insanely plain right now, so that's what I will be doing tomorrow. I routed the whole board in about 4 hours and even managed to squeeze in an NFC coil. I hope the coil will work, but everything is experimentation! (😭) I'm still figuring out how the e-ink will sit, but probably on the front face with the flex cable going around the side of the PCB. This was a lot of work, but I'm happy I got it done this quickly! Tomorrow, I will be doing the silkscreens and maybe finding some 3d models for the components that are missing.

  3. Finishing schematic and PCB

    # Finishing schematic and PCB routing ## Schematic So, I finished the schematic by adding ESD protection, adding pin headers and routing all the GPIO pins. I still wonder if I should add a couple LEDs but I can always add them in later. For this project, I started looking for components on LCSC whilst routing the scehmatic so that I would have less of a headache later on. I have yet to figue out the NFC antenna situation. ![image.png](/user-attachments/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6MjA2MjMsInB1ciI6ImJsb2JfaWQifX0=--4a0b52ccd32b4c79d4e0ce95cf9fd6cea24f82c1/image.png) ## PCB I started by choosing all the footprints, and I picked 0402 for resistor and caps, and 0805 for the inductor, along with buttons that I know are good, and other components I have already ordered in the past. I will need to figure out what to do with the PCB antenna since that is not yet finished. ![image.png](/user-attachments/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6MjA2MjEsInB1ciI6ImJsb2JfaWQifX0=--6bf72a7a3a8552c3de8421eb45084c86374e23b3/image.png)
